CIDB grade checker

Pick your CIDB grade and see how many currently-open South African government tenders you qualify for — checked against the tenders that actually state a requirement, on the live feed. Free, no signup.

This only counts tenders whose advert states a CIDB grade.

Most South African tender adverts don't state a CIDB grade at all — the requirement usually sits inside the tender documents instead. Measured against the live feed on 2026-07-31: 14 of 1,685 open tenders (0.8%) stated one. Right now, 27 of 2 339 open tenders (1.2%) state a grade. A tender that isn't counted here is not confirmed open to every grade, and it is not confirmed closed to you either — always check the actual tender documents before deciding not to bid.

This checks the stated-CIDB signal only.

It counts the small slice of tenders whose advert states a grade. Industrial Hub checks every open tender — including the ones that say nothing about CIDB up front — against your CSD registration, tax compliance and B-BBEE status too, per tender, against the live feed.

Why most tenders aren't counted here

A CIDB grading requirement is set by the CIDB (Construction Industry Development Board) and stated per contract, in the tender documents. Most South African tender adverts never repeat it in the notice text itself — you only find it once you open the full bid pack. That is why this checker can only ever count the small slice of adverts that DO state a grade up front, not the true population of tenders you might qualify for.

Industrial Hub reads the stated grade off every tender that has one and shows it beside your own inside the product — alongside CSD registration, tax compliance and B-BBEE status — so a gap never surfaces for the first time on the day you were about to submit.

Frequently asked questions

Why do so few tenders show up here?

Because so few adverts state a CIDB grade at all. Measured against the live feed on 2026-07-31: 14 of 1,685 open tenders (0.8%). SA buyers usually put the actual grade requirement inside the tender documents, not the advert text this page can read. A tender not shown here is not confirmed open to any grade, and it is not confirmed closed to you either — it simply doesn’t say.

What counts as "qualifying"?

Your grade must meet or exceed the grade the tender states, using the same comparison Industrial Hub’s own Bid Readiness check uses inside the product. A Potentially Emerging (PE) contractor may bid one grade up, and this page accounts for that if you tick the box.

Does class of works affect eligibility?

Class of works is shown when the advert states one, but eligibility itself is decided on grade alone — same as inside the product. Picking a class here narrows the list to tenders whose advert stated that exact class; it does not change whether you qualify.

Does this check my whole tender readiness?

No. It checks the CIDB signal only, and only on the small slice of tenders that state one. Industrial Hub checks every open tender — including the ones silent on CIDB — against your CSD registration, tax compliance and B-BBEE status too, per tender, on the live feed.

Do I need to sign up to use this?

No. The checker is free to use with no signup and no email required.
